Paid temporary public work is an active labour market measure for unemployed persons to acquire and maintain work skills by performing socially beneficial work. Paid temporary public work is offered by municipalities, societies or foundations without the intention of gaining profit.
Who can participate in the measure?
Unemployed persons who:
- do not receive unemployment benefit;
- have been registered with SEA for at least 6 months OR
- have been registered as unemployed for less than six months but have been without employment for at least 12 months (not considered an employee or a self-employed person in compliance with the Law on State Social Insurance).
Aim of the measure:
- providing the opportunity for unemployed persons to acquire or maintain work skills;
- promoting unemployed person involvement in socially beneficial activities.
How to apply for participation?
If the unemployed person has been registered with SEA for at least 6 months, or has been registered as unemployed for less than six months but has been without employment for at least 12 months, he/she can apply for the measure in the Local Employment Office.
Period of involvement:
unemployed person is employed subsequently or with intervals up to four months within a 12 month period; the unemployed person may participate repeatedly.
How it benefits the unemployed person?
Unemployed person maintains and develops work abilities and social skills.
For performing paid temporary public work the unemployed person receives a monthly remuneration of EUR 150.00.
In case the unemployed person has not performed the paid temporary public work on all scheduled days of the month, municipality adjusts the payment corresponding to the days of actual employment within the measure.
Mandatory State social insurance contributions are made for the unemployed person involved in the measure in accordance with the normative acts on mandatory State social insurance contributions and State social insurance special budget.
During the participation in the measure the unemployed person is provided an accident insurance.
How it benefits the employer?
Support in performing socially beneficial activities.
The unemployed person involved in paid temporary public work receives a monthly remuneration of EUR 150.00.
Monthly subsidy for one paid temporary public work coordinator in municipality is EUR 128.06 depending on the days of actual employment.
Cost compensation for the mandatory health check-ups of the involved unemployed persons in accordance with normative acts, but no more than EUR 30.00 per person.
